Welcome

Hi! My name is Alexis, and I am interested in building
full-stack applications with the latest and greatest tech.

I am passionate about solving real-world problems and working as part of a group to deliver meaningful impact. I've had experience working in part of a group for an e-commerce project, and as part of a team in my customer service role at a movie theater. Hobbies of mine include playing and watching soccer, watching movies, and reading books.

Things I Can Do

Whether it's new technology or legacy, I pride myself in being able to learn what's necessary to deliver results. Reading docs, using AI, asking deliberate questions, and constantly learning is something I implement every time I endeavor build new projects.

  • HTML, CSS, JS, NodeJS, Express, EJS
  • Systems thinking
  • Read docs & implement solutions
  • Devops with AWS
  • Problem solver
  • Team collaborator

My Projects

Here are a few of the projects I would like to showcase. They've helped me develop a firm understanding of HTML, CSS, and JS. I believe that only through continually building apps and making mistakes do you truly learn.

Speck

I built this small social media application that was inspired by twitter (x.com). It allows users to share their thoughts and include images in their posts. I had to learn to use the MVC architecture paradigm for better organization of my files, use EJS templating engine, MongoDB, Cloudinary, Multer, and Passport. There are still so many more optimizations I would love to implement when time allows it.

Taco Restaurant

I used HTML and CSS to create this taco restaurant to better develop my frontend skills. Later, I added a shopping cart and used JS and localStorage to store their cart items. I would also incorporate Supabase DB to store user reviews.
